Manchester City vs Arsenal prediction 31.03.2024

On Sunday afternoon, we will have the opportunity to watch a super-interesting game between two title-chasers, Manchester City and Arsenal, at Etihad Stadium in Manchester. 

Manchester City won five of the six last Premier League titles, but many football experts said they are not as good this year, especially after they lost Kevin De Bruyne at the very start of the season. Still, the Citizens are once again a title contender, and they are only getting better as we approach the final part of the season. Currently, Manchester City are 3rd, with only one-point deficit over Arsenal and Liverpool. So, even though there are ten rounds left, this match could be crucial for both teams.

Arsenal blew the opportunity to win the title last year when they had a comfortable lead over the rest of the league before entering the season's final part. However, they blew that opportunity and once again let the Citizens lift the trophy. At this moment, the Gunners are holding a top spot due to an excellent eight-game winning streak. Still, with a potential loss to the Citizens, the Gunners could find themselves in big problems. An additional problem for the Gunners is a really challenging remaining schedule. In our opinion, Arsenal have by far the most brutal schedule of the three teams battling for the title (Arsenal, Liverpool, and Machester City). 

Manchester City vs Arsenal pick: Manchester City to win

Manchester City are on an excellent run since mid-December. They haven't lost in 22 games in all competitions while having an incredible 86% win rate. Additionally, the Citizens haven't lost a single game at home for the entire season! 

Arsenal are in excellent form as well. The Gunners have won nine of the previous ten games in all competitions. Even though the Gunners are tied with Manchester City for the best road team in the Premier League, they had their problems away from home in the Champions League and Cup competitions. 

These teams met twice this season (once in the Community Shield and once in the league), with Arsenal winning both of them. Still, at Etihad Stadium, the Citizens have dominated the Gunners for years, winning eight in a row! 

When it mattered the most, Manchester City rose to the occasion, while we cannot say the same for Arsenal. In the deciding games, especially at Etihad Stadium, we trust the Citizens much more and expect a win over the Gunners.
