Ten games into the season, Malmo come into Friday's Allsvenskan clash sitting proudly at the top of the division. Boasting an impressive haul of 25 points, Henrik Rydström´s side boast a three-point advantage ahead of Djurgården at the summit of the division

Picking up six successive wins to start the season, Malmo have lost just one of their first ten matches, while they retain a 100% winning record from four fixtures played at Eleda Stadion. 

Since the start of last season, Malmo´s home form has been the key to their improvements over the past 12 months. Rydström´s side won 15 and lost just one of their last 19 league matches on home soil.

Contrastingly, Kalmar arrive in Malmo struggling near the bottom of the division. Henrik Jensen´s side lost five of their first six games of the campaign. Since then, two wins from four have lifted spirits, but the visitors remain 15th in the 16-team division.

Away from home, the Röda bröder are very much an inconsistent bunch. Kalmar won five but lost eight of their last 13 matches on their travels since July 2023. 

Recent meetings between these sides have been consistently low-scoring. Remarkably, each of their last six meetings finished with the same 1:0 scoreline. Both teams won three of those six games. 

Malmo edged to a 1:0 win when they last faced-off at the Eleda Stadion, and considering recent form, another home victory seems likely on Friday.
