Real Madrid arrive in Mallorca with an eight-point cushion ahead of second-placed Barcelona in La Liga. With eight games still to play, Los Merengues appear well placed to reclaim the Spanish title.

Still, Saturday´s fixture represents a stiff test of Real´s title credentials. The Islanders have lost just two of their last 14 home matches while they also claimed wins against Real in two of their last three meetings at this venue since 2019.

Of course, Mallorca suffered a heart-breaking defeat in the final of the Copa Del Rey last weekend and while morale may have taken a hit, the hosts will be keen to inflict some damage on their famous visitors. 

With a crucial second leg in Manchester to come this week, Real could have their eye on other prizes and a competitive and keenly contested match seems likely to play out.

On their travels, Real have dropped points in two of their last three away matches at Rayo and Valencia and I wouldn't be surprised to see Mallorca take something this weekend.

While past meetings have rarely seen BTTS, I fancy that outcome this weekend. Real have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight away matches while Mallorca have only failed to score in two of their last ten home fixtures.

Ultimately, I expect this to be a tight game and while a goal-fest is unlikely, a low-scoring draw could prove the best bet this weekend.
