The Swiss Super League is coming to an end. While many undecided things remain in the Championship Group, everything is decided in the Relegation Group. One of those matchups in the relegation group is between Lausanne and Grasshoppers, which will take place at Stade de la Tuiliere in Lausanne. 

In the last decade and a half, Lausanne have constantly moved between the first and second tiers of Swiss football. Last year, they earned a promotion after finishing second, and this year, they were really close to returning back to the Challenge League. Still, with a win in the last round, they mathematically secured survival one round before the end of the season. Currently, they are 10th, seven points above the relegation playout and their next opponent, Grasshoppers. 

Grasshoppers, Switzerland's all-time title record holders, have not performed at the desired level in recent seasons, as they were either in the lower part of the Super League or in the Challenge League. This year, they are having another disappointing season, considering they will have to play in the relegation playout to stay in the Swiss top-flight division. 

Lausanne vs Grasshoppers pick: Both teams to score

Lausanne have been in poor form, losing three in the last four before finally winning the last game rather dominantly (4:0) vs Lausanne Ouchy. However, most of their poor games happened away from home. At their turf, Lausanne did well, losing just once in seven games and scoring in five of seven games. Throughout the season, in 19 home games in all competitions, Lausanne scored at least one goal on 13 occasions (68%). So, scoring a goal at home vs Grasshoppers, which had only five clean sheets in 37 rounds, is a completely real scenario.

On the other hand, Grasshoppers are in excellent form, winning seven points in the last four matches and scoring six goals - 1.5 per game. Even though they don't have a motive in this game, they will definitely want to stay in good form before the deciding games in the relegation playout.

Additionally, both teams have been pretty poor defensively throughout the season, and it is hard to expect a good defensive performance in a game where neither team has anything to gain. Considering that and all the above, we believe that both teams to score bet is the safest option for this tie.
