Juventus vs Genoa prediction 17.03.2024

Juventus should have finished second last season and played in the Champions League this season. Still, the Old Lady finished 7th due to non-football-related stuff and were banned from the UEFA for a year. Since they couldn't compete in Europe, many people picked them to win the Scudetto because they could focus on domestic competitions. For most of the season, the Old Lady kept the pace with Inter, but with only one win in the last six games, the title seems really distant. At this moment, they are 3rd with 58 points - 17 points behind the league's leader. 

After 15 consecutive seasons in Serie A, Genoa were relegated in 2021/22 but instantly returned the following season. This year, the Griffin are doing great as they are currently 12th with 33 points - nine points away from the danger zone. Lately, Genoa have been in bad form, winning four points in five games. However, the Griffin had a pretty tough schedule, and after the Juve game, they will have much easier games vs Frosinone and Verona. 

Juventus vs Genoa pick: Over 2.5 goals

Throughout the season, Juve has been awesome defensively, and because of it, they mostly played low-scoring games. However, that has not been the case in recent matches, as they failed to keep a clean sheet in the last seven matches, and in the previous four, they allowed two goals per game. Because of bad defensive displays, Juventus were over 2.5 goals in the last four games. 

Genoa had a tough schedule in the last five matches, and even though they won only four points, they scored in all of those matches. They even scored on the road vs Inter, which is by far the best team in Italy this season. So, we believe they should score against out-of-form Juve. On the other hand, Genoa were terrible defensively in the last two, allowing five goals. 

In the previous eight h2h games, we saw three or more goals on six occasions. Considering all the above, but especially recent high-scoring games from both teams, we believe we could see another game with three or more goals.
