Championship leaders Ipswich face a crucial contest on Monday when they take on Southampton at Portman Road.

Ipswich sit proudly at the top of the Championship after a hard-fought 1:0 win at Blackburn on Friday moved them above Leicester and Leeds who both dropped points at Bristol City and Watford respectively.

Now sitting one point clear of Leeds, and two points clear of  Leicester, Ipswich can move one stop closer to an unlikely title triumph on Monday.

The Tractor Boys have been in superb form in recent weeks with an impressive eight wins picked up from their last nine league outings. Ipswich bagged 25 goals in those eight victories, with 16 scored in their last four home victories. 

While in great form, Ipswich are also a reliable choice in the goal markets. Kieran McKenna´s side have only kept two clean sheets in their last 16 matches at Portman Road. Remarkably, Ipswich saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 15 of their last 17 home games since October.

Despite their superb form, Ipswich will be wary of the threat posed by a Southampton side currently fourth in the division. While ten points behind Ipswich, the Saints have two games in hand and will see this fixture as a potential route back into automatic promotion contention. 

Southampton have also seen plenty of high-scoring matches in recent weeks. Russel Martin´s side saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight league games and both outcomes seem likely on Monday.

While Ipswich will feel confident of claiming another massive win at Portman Road, BTTS and over 2.5 goals is my top pick for what should prove a thrilling Easter Monday Championship clash.
