Stuttgart make the trip to Sinsheim in great form after another Bundesliga victory last weekend. Currently third in the division, Sebastian Hoeneß´s side are unbeaten in their last seven league matches after a comfortable 2:0 win against Union Berlin last weekend. 

On course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2011, VFB picked up victories in six of those seven unbeaten games and now find themselves seven points clear of fifth-placed RB Leipzig.

On their travels, Stuttgart have been a little inconsistent, though. The visitors have won seven but lost five of 12 away fixtures this season. A more reliable choice for goal chasers in recent weeks, Hoeneß´s side have seen over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine road matches while four of their five most recent away fixtures saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored. 

Hosts Hoffenheim come into Saturday's contest looking to bounce back from a 3:1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. Still seventh in the division, last weekend's loss leaves Hoffenehim seven points behind Frankfurt in the race for European qualification. 

Like Stuttgart, Die Kraichgaue are usually a reliable choice in the goal markets. Pellegrino Matarazzo´s side have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in each of their last three matches. 

At the PreZero Arena, Hoffenheim have remarkably seen both teams net in 14 of their last 15 Bundesliga matches. You have to go back to April 2023 to find a Bundesliga match at this venue that did not see both teams hitting the target.

Taking those numbers into consideration, we can be confident of seeing another open game this weekend. Previous matches between these sides have often proven entertaining - seven of their last eight encounters saw BTTS while five of their last seven also saw over 2.5 goals scored. I expect both outcomes this weekend.

Ultimately, with Hoffenheim also facing an injury crisis, Stuttgart should be confident of taking another big step towards Champions League qualification. I fancy the visitors to win in a game where both teams should hit the target.
