A place in the Spanish top flight for the 2024-25 campaign will be at stake when Gimnastic and Malaga go head to head on Saturday night.
The hosts finished the season second in Primera Federacion Group 1 with 70 points, while Malaga finished third in Group 2 with as many points.
Having eliminated AD Ceuta in the Playoffs semi-finals 4-3 on aggregate, Gimnastic went into the first leg of this weekend’s encounter with plenty of confidence but things didn’t go their way. Ivan Moreno’s conceded just on the stroke of halftime and while they did respond minutes into the second half, Roberto Fernandez sent Malaga ahead again.
Things got worse for Gimmnastic later on in the game with Iker Recio having to leave the pitch after a straight red card on the 90th minute mark. However, the hosts will get encouragement from the fact that Saturday’s game is scheduled to take place at home where they are on a five match winning streak.
Gimnastic vs Malaga Betting Tips: Double Chance Malaga
As much as Gimnastic are enjoying one of their best run at home this season, but I don’t just see them beating Malaga. The hosts Gimnastic managed to win just one of the last four meetings between the two sides – losing three times.
Malaga have equally been difficult to beat lately. Indeed, Sergio Pellicer’s side have lost just one of their last eighteen matches across all competitions. Given that four of their last seven away matches ended in a draw, we are likely to see another level game on Saturday.

Malaga team news
Malaga boss Sergio Pellicer will continue to rely on the services of Roberto Fernández who is the club’s top scorer this season.
With his brace last time out, Fernández has found the back of the net 18 times this season and will lead the line, while Nélson Monte is pushing for a place in defence after featuring as a substitute last time out.
