An international friendly takes place at Estádio Do Algarve on Thursday evening as Gibraltar takes on Wales.

Another low-key friendly affair is expected at the Estádio Do Algarve this Thursday as Wales look to bring their season to a close with a win against lowly Gibraltar.

The host team fought well in their last contest but eventually slipped to a 2:0 defeat against Scotland on Monday. Goals from Ryan Christie and Che Adams secured a lacklustre win for the Scots against the minnows from Iberia. 

Gibraltar have now lost each of their last 13 matches since a 1:0 win against Andorra in November 2022, while they failed to score in each of those losses. They also slipped to a 4:0 defeat against Wales in their only previous meeting last year and are expected to provide little serious resistance again this week. 

While Wales missed out on Euro 2024 qualification, Robert Page´s side have been in good form. The Red Dragons are unbeaten in their last eight matches - barring their painful penalty shoot out defeat against Poland in their final of the Euro 2024 playoffs.

Given their lack of firepower, it's tough to see the hosts scoring on Thursday, so Wales to win to nil should prove the safest selection. I expect Page´s side to score a similar win to that which Scotland achieved earlier this week. The Welsh rarely score high-scoring wins (although they did put four past Finland in March).

With that in mind, I´m backing Wales to win, keep a clean sheet and score somewhere between two and four goals.
