One of Germany’s last two friendlies before the prestigious European Championship tournament will take place on Monday evening when Die Mannschaft and Ukraine face off at the home ground of 1. FC Nürnberg.
The elimination at the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar is something that fans of the German national team have not forgotten. DFB-Team was expected to show a reaction after that, but they were once again disappointing and secured just one win in six friendlies. This led to the sacking of Hansi Flick and subsequent appointment of Julian Nagelsmann. The latter has made some changes but there is still room for improvement.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s major tournament was the Euro qualifiers. The Blue-Yellows qualified for the tournament for the third successive time, but they left it late with the team having to beat the likes of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland in the Playoffs. Serhiy Rebrov’s side are now unbeaten in five and having avoided defeat against Italy in that spell, they will fancy their chances against Die Mannschaft.
Germany vs Ukraine Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
One of Germany’s major problems lately has been in defence where they just can’t keep clean sheets. Indeed, the 2-0 win over France in March was only the first time in twelve games that DFB Team went through 90 minutes without conceding. Good thing is that they scored two or more goals in eight of those encounters.
Ukraine have not also had much joy in defence lately, with the Ukrainians boasting just two clean sheets from their last eleven games. Just one of their last four encounters produced less than three goals.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Germany vs Ukraine prediction: 2-1
