Third-placed Stuttgart face a stiff test of their resolve this weekend with seventh-placed Freiburg a tough side to beat at Europa Park.

Coming into Saturday´s Bundesliga matchup, Freiburg remain unbeaten in their last seven league matches on home soil (W4, D3). Christian Streich´s side scored an entertaining 3:2 win against Hoffenheim in their most recent league fixture in front of their own support.

Goals at both ends have been a recent theme in Freiburg´s league results. Four of their last five matches saw BTTS while four of their last six at Europa Park also saw both teams scored.

Stuttgart comes into this weekend's vital clash boosted by an outstanding 5:2 win against RB Leipzig last weekend. After losing three of their previous four league matches, a hat-trick from Deniz Undav secured a much-needed three points for Sebastian Hoeneß´s side. 

On their travels, VFB have struggled in recent weeks. After winning three of their first four road matches, the visitors have since lost four of their last five including a 1:0 defeat at Bochum last time out.

Still, having found their winning formula again last weekend, I fancy the away side to put in a much better performance this weekend.

A tough match to call, I expect both teams to have their chances and so we should be confident of seeing BTTS. That outcome has occurred in eight of the last competitive meetings between these sides at this venue. I also expect Freiburg to make home advantage count against a Stuttgart side missing some key players this weekend.
