RB Leipzig will continue their hunt for a Champions League place for next season this week when they face FC Köln away from home.
Köln have had little trouble dodging the drop in the last two seasons, but things are not looking good for the Billy Goats at the moment. Yes, Timo Schultz's side are just one place above the automatic relegation places and that is mainly down to their home form. Koln have won just one of their last eight games at the RheinEnergieStadion and will face a difficult task against Leipzig on Friday.
RB Leipzig are another German top flight side who are struggling this season. The Red Bulls started the season with a win against Bayern in the DFB Super Cup final in August, but since then they have been very inconsistent. Leipzigs' latest heartbreak came in the Champions League, where they lost in the round of 16 to Real Madrid. They are also out of the DFB Cup.

While home wins have been few and far between for Köln so far this season, their recent record against RB Leipzig at the RheinEnergieStadion is quite solid. The Billy Goats are unbeaten in their last three encounters with the visitors at this stadium, winning once and drawing twice. All three games ended with under 3.5 goals.
The recent games of Koln have not also been particularly entertaining. Six of the hosts' last seven Bundesliga games of the hosts ended with two goals or fewer and I don't think Friday's game will be much different. To be on the safe side, I am going for the Under 3.5 option.

Timo Hübers will be unavailable this week for Koln after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Gladbach last time out and Jan Thielmann will serve the final of his two match ban for the straight red card against Bayer O4 Leverkusen a fortnight ago.
The hosts’ list of absentees also includes Luca Waldschmidt, Mark Uth and Justin Diehl who are nursing fibula, knee and muscle injuries respectively.
