The final KNVB Beker quarter final takes place at Euroborg on Thursday as Eerste Divisie side FC Groningen takes on Eredivisie visitors Fortuna Sittard.

A competitive cup contest can be expected on Thursday with both teams coming into this contest in good form. 

While Groningen slipped to a 1:0 defeat at Dordrecht in their last league runout on Friday, the hosts have been in good form with seven wins picked up in their last nine matches. Now sixth in the division, the Trots van het Noorden sit just five points outside of the promotion playoff positions.

At Euroborg, Groningen have been in particularly good form with victories picked up in their last five league outings. The hosts scored at least two goals in each of their last six home matches while five of those games also saw BTTS. 

Visiting Fortuna have also been in good form since the turn of the year. The away side are unbeaten in their last four league matches and now sit tenth in the division, two points short of the European playoff spots. 

Despite recent improvements, Fortuna have a miserable away record. While they did claim a rare 1:0 win at Volendam ten days ago, the visitors had failed to win any of their previous 14 road matches (D3, L11). Sittard also failed to score in six of ten away league games this season but they do have a good record in this fixture, suggesting we can expect BTTS on Thursday. 

Considering these sides' respective home and away form this season, I'm taking a chance on Groningen to claim the scalp of their top-flight visitors. With Fortuna so poor on their travels, Dick Lukkien´s side can take advantage and book their place in the KNVB Beker semi finals.
