PSV´s long unbeaten run in the Eredivisie finally came to an end on Saturday with a shock 3:1 reversal at NEC. Despite that setback, Peter Bosz´s side retain a seven point advantage at the summit of the division. 

Before Saturday's defeat, PSV had enjoyed a superb 42-game unbeaten run while they had won 11 of their 13 previous away matches this season. Bosz´s boys bagged 43 goals on their travels and will fancy another big win against a struggling home side.

Excelsior come into this contest currently winless in their last nine Eredivisie fixtures. Marinus Dijkhuizen´s side have lost seven of their last eight league games and now find themselves currently occupying the relegation playoff position.

At the Van Donge & De Roo Stadion, Excelsior have lost four and won only one of their last nine matches while they have only failed to score in two of 13 home games this season. Dijkhuizen´s men scored exactly two goals against both Feyenoord and Ajax, suggesting they are capable of raising their game against a PSV side that have dipped slightly in form in recent weeks.

Still, history suggests the visitors should be backed to regain their winning touch on Tuesday. PSV have won 18 of the last 19 meetings between these sides since 2007. 17 of those victories saw at least three goals scored and those are the two outcomes I am most confident about this week.

Ultimately, PSV and over 2.5 goals looks like a winning combination but don´t be surprised if Excelsior gets on the scoresheet.
