In the last couple of years, Everton have been among the worst teams in the Premier League, finishing 16th and 17th with only 39 and 36 points won. Still, they managed to secure survival regardless. This season, the Blues are once again in the lower part of the league's table. However, this time, the only reason behind it is the ten-point deduction for financial problems, and if it weren't for that, they would be in 12th place. The general impression is that the Blues are much better than the other teams currently around the relegation zone. Still, the last month and a half was really poor for Everton, as they won just once during that period. 

Tottenham made big changes during the Summer transfer window, and it seems they are paying off. The Spurs had an excellent start to the season and, after ten rounds, even held the top spot. Still, due to a bad period in November, when they won one point in five games, they dropped in the standings. Right now, the Spurs are 4th with 43 points, three away from the 2nd and 3rd place, but already eight points away from the 1st-placed Liverpool. So, the title looks pretty unrealistic at this moment, and Tottenham should strive to finish in the top four and secure the Champions League. For now, they are on the right path to doing so. 

Everton vs Tottenham pick: Tottenham to (AH 0) win

Everton are a solid team, but they have had major problems in the last month and a half. During that period, the Blues won just vs Crystal Palace in the FA Cup in nine games! Additionally, they didn't have a tough schedule during that period, facing only three good teams (Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Manchester City). 

On the other hand, Tottenham are in good form, losing only once in the last five games! That loss was against Manchester City (1:0), so we can give them a pass on that one. But generally speaking, the Spurs are in good form, winning six of nine games in all competitions. 

These teams met on 23rd December at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Spurs winning 2:1. Additionally, Everton haven't won against Tottenham in the previous six h2h games. Considering the previous h2h games and the difference in form, we believe that the Spurs are closer to winning this game.
