In the Copa Libertadores Group C, The Strongest already secured the second stage of the competition, and the remaining three teams are battling for the remaining spot. On Wednesday night, 3rd-placed Esudiantes and 2nd-placed Huachipato will face off at Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi in La Plata.

Estudiantes de La Plata were among the best few teams in Argentina in previous years. Only about 25 days ago, they won the Copa de La Liga Profesional title and started the ongoing Liga Profesional well with six points in three rounds. In Copa Libertadores, they are underachieving as they are in 3rd place with four points after four rounds, but the impression is that they played much better than the current standing suggests. Still, with a home win against Huachipato, they would massively improve their chances. 

Huachipato came to this season after a historic one last year when they won the title. However, they are not even remotely as good this year. The title is undoubtedly out of the question since they are in 10th place after 14 rounds - already 12 points away from the top spot. Even securing the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana will be a challenge, it seems. But in the Copa Libertadores, they are still in a good position to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Estudiantes vs Huachipato pick: Under 2.5 goals

Estudiantes, like most Argentine teams from the top tier division, are playing mostly low-scoring games. Lately, they were under 2.5 goals in six of seven matches, and in the Copa Libertadores this season they were under 2.5 goals in three of four matches - 75%

Huachipato are in terrible form, with only one win in seven games. They were even worse away from home, with only one point in four matches and one goal scored! So, scoring a goal away from home against a highly favored Estudiantes will definitely be challenging. 

In the first h2h game this season, in Chile, we saw a 1:1 draw. Both teams created very little goalscoring chances, and according to xG statistics, we should have seen only 1.27 goals. 

Considering all the above, we firmly believe that an under 2.5 goals bet is the best option for this tie.
