The regular phase of League Two has ended, and the Playoffs are about to begin. One of the matchups is between the 6th-placed Crewe and 5th-placed Doncaster, with the first leg taking place at Alexandra Stadium in Crewe.
Crewe were relegated from League One in the 2021/22 season and had a terrible season in League Two last season, finishing 13th, nowhere near the Playoffs. This year, they were in a good position to even secure direct promotion, but due to a pretty bad last part of the season, they dropped to 6th place. They are entering the Playoffs as the team with the worst form.
Doncaster had the same path as Crewe as they were relegated from League One in the same season as the Railwaymen and had a terrible last season. However, unlike Crewe, Doncaster also had a terrible first part of the season. After about two-thirds of the season, they looked more like a relegation candidate than a playoff team. Still, the last part of the season has been incredible, winning 10 of 11 matches and moving from 20th to 6th place in the league's table!
Crewe vs Doncaster pick: Doncaster to (AH 0) win
Crewe are in terrible form, winning only once in the last nine matches. Lately, they have been even worse, winning just one point and scoring one goal in the last three games. Even that one point was secured in the stoppage time against a poor Colchester team.
On the other hand, Doncaster are in incredible form! If we look only at the last 15 or 20 games, Doncaster would be easily at the top spot in League Two. The Rovers have won ten of the last 11, only failing to win against Gillingham (2:2). However, they had a 2:0 lead in that match but eventually received a red card, which changed the game. So, they could easily enter the Playoffs on an 11-game winning streak.
In the first h2h game, Doncaster won 2:0. Right now, Doncaster looks like the best team in the Playoffs, while Crewe are in terrible form. We believe the Rovers are much closer to winning the upcoming match.

Crewe team news
After securing the Playoffs, coach Lee Bell spoke to the media. He said he was thrilled because most football pundits saw them in the relegation battle, but they have proven them wrong. "I want them to enjoy this and celebrate what has been a really good season so far," the coach added.
The good news for the Railwayman is that forward Courtney Baker-Richardson recovered from his injury and played around 20 minutes in the previous game. The 28-year-old has been a starting striker before the injury and has scored nine goals in 36 appearances in League Two.
