World Cup qualification continues at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte on Thursday as Niger travels to Kinshasa to take on Congo.

Congo vs Niger Betting Tips: BTTS / Draw

Congo come into Thursday's contest desperate for a victory after suffering a 4:2 defeat in their first fixture in Group E against Zambia.

Without a win in their last four matches, and with just one victory in eight games played since the start of last year, Congo will need to make some quick improvements if they are to maintain their hopes of qualification for the World Cup in 2026.

Isaac N'Gata´s side do not have a good record in recent home qualifiers, though. Congo lost four and drew two of their last six home WC qualifiers since 2016. In fact, each of their last seven home qualifiers saw BTTS.

Niger make the trip to Kinshasa also short on winning form. The visitors failed to win five of their last six international matches, although they did claim a morale-boosting win against Zambia in their first Group E contest at the end of last year.

Big underdogs to escape a section also featuring Morocco and Tanzania, Niger have won just two of 12 previous away WC qualification games. Each of their last three away qualifiers did see BTTS, an outcome also witnessed in three of Niger´s last four matches. 

Usually a tight contest, three of the last four meetings between these nations finished as draws while two of those games also saw BTTS. While high-scoring matches are rare on the international stage, particularly in African WC qualification, BTTS could prove a good value bet on Thursday. 

I´m backing BTTS, with the expectation that we could see a low-scoring draw at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte.
