Club Brugge vs Molde prediction 14.03.2024

After a 2:1 in the first leg in Norway, Molde and Club Brugge will face off in the Jan Breydel Stadion in Brugge in the second leg of the Europa Conference League 1/8 Finals. 

Club Brugge are one of Belgium's biggest clubs, which secured the Champions League pretty regularly in recent years. However, last season, they only finished 4th, and this season looks pretty similar to the last one, as they are currently 3rd with 51 points, already 18 away from the league's leader. Even that 2nd place, which leads to the Champions League, looks pretty distant as they are 12 points away from it. However, Club Brugge were good in Europe, and even though they lost the first match in Norway, the bookies consider them a slight favorite over Molde to reach the Quarter Finals.

Due to a different football calendar, Molde have already finished the season in Norway. Despite not playing their best in the league, they are doing very well in the Cup competitions, as they won the domestic Cup with a 1:0 win over Bodo/Glimt, which have been the best in Norway in recent years. Despite finishing their season almost three months ago, Molde did great in the ECL 1/16 Finals, winning 6:2 on aggregate vs Legia and securing the 2:1 lead over Club Brugge in the first leg. 

Club Brugge vs Molde pick: Over 2.5 goals

Club Brugge have been really good offensively at home for most of the season, but lately, they have been really impressive. In the last six home games, they scored 16 goals - 2.67 per game. Because of that excellent offensive display, they were over 2.5 goals in the last six home matches. 

Molde played almost exclusively high-scoring games in Europe. In the Europa League group phase and the Conference League knockout phase, Molde were over 2.5 goals in eight of the previous nine games! In recent European games, they have proven that they can score whenever the opposing team opens up too much. 

In the first leg, Molde won 2:1. Considering the previous h2h game, Club Brugge's excellent offensive display at home in recent matches, and Molde's ability to score even without having too much possession, we believe that an over 2.5 goals bet is the best option for this ECL tie.
