Tottenham Hotspur will continue their chase for a Champions League place this week when they travel to the Bridge to face Chelsea.
The hosts enjoyed a fascinating spell between late February and mid-April, during which they went eight games unbeaten in all competitions, but that run is now behind them. Mauricio Pochettino's side fell to a humiliating 5:0 defeat to Arsenal after getting eliminated from the FA Cup by Man City and only picked up a point against Aston Villa last weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile were in the title race after a few weeks into the season but now have their sights set only on securing a Champions League place. After back to back defeats against Newcastle and the Gunners, Spurs sit seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa with two games in hand - meaning their faith of finishing in the top four is no longer in their hands.
Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Entertainment has been the major headline in the recent games of Chelsea. The Blues conceded seven goals in their last two league outings alone, and at least four goals were seen in each of their last eight outings.
Tottenham Hotspur have not been able to rely on their defence lately. Spurs enter this game with just one clean sheet from their last sixteen games in the English Premier League. Fifteen of those matches ended with over 2.5 goals and I fancy Thursday’s game to end similarly.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur prediction: 2-2

Chelsea team news
Thiago Silva is expected to miss Chelsea’s game this week due to injury. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino confirmed after the draw with Aston Villa last weekend that Silva had to be forced off as a result of a hamstring injury.
The Blues’ lengthy injury list also includes Wesley Fofana, Roméo Lavia, Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Christopher Nkunku, Levi Colwill, Robert Sánchez, Enzo Fernández, Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell.
To make matters worse, Mykhailo Mudryk and Moisés Caicedo will also be unavailable on Thursday after picking up their tenth and fifth yellow cards of the season respectively last weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur team news
As far as Tottenham Hotspur are concerned, they didn’t also finish their last game without suffering an injury.
Timo Werner lasted only half an hour before being taken off due to injury and Thursday’s game will come too soon for the RB Leipzig loanee.
Manor Solomon (meniscus), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Fraser Forster (ankle) and Destiny Udogie (hamstring) are also on the visitors’ list of absentees.

Three reasons we expect at least three goals in this game
- Just one of the last twelve games of Spurs ended with under 2.5 goals.
- All the last eight games of Chelsea produced at least four goals.
- Over 3.5 goals were seen in two of the last three meetings between Chelsea and Spurs.
