Cameroon is among the teams that appear pretty regularly in the World Cup. They have done so in seven of the last nine World Cups, but they have only once managed to come out of the group. They started this qualification cycle well with four points in the first two rounds and are currently holding the top spot. However, they are on level with Cape Verde and Libya in terms of points. In the previous AFCON, Cameroon reached the 1/8 Finals, but Nigeria eliminated them by 2:0, which resulted in sacking their head coach Rigobert Song.

Cape Verde have never appeared in the World Cup, but they are constantly improving, and we wouldn't be too surprised if they reach the next one. Cameroon haven't been great offensively in recent matches. In the last nine games, they scored more than one goal only on two occasions - against Gambia and Mauritius. Objectively, those teams aren't as good defensively as Cape Verde. Mostly due to a poor offense, Cameroon were under 2.5 goals in six of the last nine games in all competitions.

Cape Verde are one of the teams that rarely plays high-scoring games. They play pretty organized and disciplined football and tend to keep a clean sheet fairly often. In the last four games in all competitions, they kept their net intact against Equatorial Guinea, Guyana, South Africa, and Mauritania. On the other hand, the Blue Sharks aren't scoring too much. In the first two games in the World Cup Qualifications against Eswatini and Angola, they scored just twice.

In the previous h2h game, we saw a 1:1 draw, and additionally, these teams were under 2.5 goals in two of the previous three h2h games in the past five years. Considering all the above, we believe that an under 2.5 goals is the safest option for this World Cup Qualifier game.
