Two Serie A sides whose survival hopes are still hanging in the air meet this weekend as Cagliari play host to Lecce at the Sardegna Arena.
Cagliari are one of the favorites to beat the drop among all the sides in the bottom seven of the Italian top flight at the moment. The Islanders enter this weekend’s game with just one defeat from their last five league games, winning one and drawing three. Claudio Ranieri’s men sit three points above the relegation zone, and that’s thanks to their home form. They are without defeat in their last five home games, and I will be looking to extend that run this weekend.
Lecce have also been in great form in recent weeks. The visitors enter this game with a run of three games without defeat and have lost just one of their last six outings. The Yellow and Reds beat Sassuolo 3-0 in their last game away from Stadio Comunale Via del Mare, but head coach Luca Gotti will be worried with the fact that his side have yet to registered back to back away wins this season.
Cagliari vs Lecce Betting Tips: Both teams to score
Defending has been a major problem for Cagliari this season, especially on home soil. The hosts didn’t finish any of their last eight games at this ground without conceding and bets on btts – yes were won in all eight fixtures.
Lecce had a tough spell in front of oppositions’ goal between February and early March, but that problem has been resolved. Luca Gotti’s side scored averagely two goals per game in their last three league matches, and also found the back of the net in three of their last four meetings with Cagliari.

Cagliari team news
Marco Mancosu has missed the last 15 games of Cagliari with a knee injury and Sunday’s game is expected to come too soon for the midfielder.
The hosts’ list of absentees also includes Alberto Dossena (knee), Nicolas Viola (muscle) and Jakub Jankto (ankle) who are nursing injuries.
After the humiliating defeat to Genoa last time out, head coach Claudio Ranieri is expected to make changes to his Cagliari XI.
Gianluca Lapadula and Nahitan Nández – who have six goals and assists between them this season – are among those who could be promoted from the bench.
