Chelsea will continue their hunt for a top six finish on Wednesday when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex.
The hosts have taken their foot off the gas in the closing stages of the campaign. Roberto De Zerbi’s side enter this game with just one win from their last eight league outings, but they are still within reach of finishing in the top half for a third consecutive season. The Seagulls sit in 10th after the draw with Newcastle United last time out and just four points separate them from ninth placed Westham who have played a game more.
Chelsea have stepped up to the plate just when it matters most. The Blues have not lost since the heavy 5-0 defeat to Arsenal over two weeks ago, going unbeaten in four games. They won each of the last three, scoring averagely three goals a game and I will be eager to maintain that form against the Seagulls.
Brighton vs Chelsea Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
One of the reasons Brighton have not quite been successful as last season – when they qualified for Europe for the first time in their history – is their inability to defend. The Seagulls have conceded more goals than six of the teams in the top six and boast just one clean sheet from their last six fixtures.
Chelsea had issues converting their chances at the beginning of the season, but we have not witnessed any of that lately. Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have scored at least twice in ten of their last eleven Premier League matches. As many games produced at least three goals.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Brighton vs Chelsea prediction: 1-3

Brighton team news
Brighton have been without Kaoru Mitoma for most of the season due to a back injury, and the Japanese winger isn’t expected to feature again this season.
Evan Ferguson (ankle), Solly March (knee) and Jack Hinshelwood (foot) are also expected to miss Wednesday’s game due to injuries.
With Mitoma out, Simon Adingra, Danny Welbeck and Facundo Buonanotte will main the front three, while Julio Enciso could be given the number 10 role.
