Hosts Braintree come into Tuesday´s league contest in great form after they extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches with a narrow 1:0 win at Weymouth on Saturday. Now, three days on from that narrow win, these sides lockhorns at Dunmow Group Stadium,

Braintree have been in good form on home soil with an impressive ten victories wracked up from their last 12 matches in front of their own fans. Angelo Harrop´s side have lost just one of their previous 19 home matches since August. 

Currently third in the division with 67 points on the board, the home side look well-placed to finish inside the promotion playoff positions. 

Contrastingly, Weymouth find themselves languishing in 15th spot, some 19 points behind Braintree and 17 short of the playoff spots. While the visitors do have a couple of games in hand on most of the teams above them in the National League, a promotion run now looks unlikely at this stage of the season.

Bobby Wikinson´s side have endured a tough run of form in recent weeks with four defeats recorded in their last seven matches. The Terras won only one of those matches having previously enjoyed a four-game winning run at the start of the year.

On their travels, Weymouth have a good record with four wins picked up in their last six matches and while underdogs on Tuesday, can make this a tough contest for the home side.

A tough one to call with the visitors strong on the road, I expect a low-scoring contest. Both teams have seen under 2.5 goals scored in a frequent number of matches this year (see stats below) and I expect that pattern to continue at the Dunmow Group Stadium.
