The European season reaches a dramatic climax at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening as Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid battle it out for the Champions League title.

A fascinating and potentially entertaining UCL Final seems likely in London on Saturday with both teams showing some fantastic form in recent weeks.

Real Madrid enjoyed a strong end to their La Liga campaign, eventually finishing the season ten points clear of nearest rivals Barcelona to claim yet anothr league tirtle. Carlo Ancelotti´s side recorded victories in seven of their last 10 fixtures, while they bagged at least four goals in three of their final four games of the Spanish league season. 

Unbeaten in their last 25 fixtures across all competitions since a Copa Del Rey defeat against city rivals Atletico in January, Real arrive in London as odds-on favourites to claim a record-breaking 15th European Cup triumph. 

Los Merengues secured their place in the final with a well-earned 4:3 aggregate success against Bayern Munich, after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out victory against Man City in the quarter-finals. Once again, Ancelotti´s side have shown they know how to get it done when it matters most. 

Still, Dortmund cannot be under-estimated after their impressive run to the 2024 final. Despite a fairly mediocre season domestically that saw them finish fifth in the Bundesliga, BVB secured their safe passage to Wembley with a hugely impressive 2:0 aggregate victory against French champions PSG in the semi-finals. 

In a grueling campaign, the Bundesliga side claimed excellent wins against AC Milan, Newcastle, PSV, Atletico Madrid and the aforementioned PSG to claim an unlikely third apperance in the UCL final. 

Previous encounters between these sides have proven competitive and high-scoring. All four of their last meetings since 2016 saw BTTS and over 3.5 goals scored. Could be set for something similar this weekend?

Ultimately, this final promises plenty, and I expect both teams to score in a likely entertaining and action-packed final. I also fancy at least three goals scored, with Real likely to emerge victorious.
