Now in the final quarter of the Serie A campaign, Bologna remain on track for a first-ever qualification for the Champions League. 

Placed fourth in the division, three points ahead of Roma coming into this weekend's fixtures, Thiago Motta´s side enjoyed an excellent run of form prior to the international break. Bologna picked up seven wins from their last eight league matches, with their only blemish a narrow 1:0 home defeat against league leaders Inter. 

At the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, Bologna have been particularly impressive with ten wins and just one loss in their last 12 Serie A matches. Motta´s men also scored at least two goals in six of their last seven victories on home soil.

In contrast to Bologna´s fine form, Salernitana come into Monday's match winless in their last 11 league matches, and now find themselves cut adrift at the bottom of the division. Stefano Colantuono´s side have picked up just two points since a 1:0 win at Verona in December.

On the road, Salernitana have lost six of their last nine games, conceding a whopping 23 goals in those six defeats. The Granata also slipped to a 2:1 defeat when these sides met in Salerno earlier this season.

Ultimately, anything other than a comfortable home win would come as a major surprise on Sunday. I´m backing Bologna to win and to score at least twice against their struggling visitors.
