Bodo missed the opportunity to achieve a much better result in the first match of the 1/16 finals of the Conference League before the rematch in Norway. By the 90th minute of that match against Ajax, they had a great 2-0, but a penalty by Bjortuft and a straight red card led to Van Den Boomen first reducing the lead and then Berghuis equalizing the match. The Norwegian club is currently without competitive matches, and given that, they played excellently. Certainly, they will have a chance for the 1/8 finals against Ajax, who are not in their best days.

The defeat against Heerenveen and the draw against Nijmegen showed once again that Ajax does not have the strength for one of the top positions in the Eredivisie this season and that this will be one of the worst seasons in the club's history. A real failure would be if they don't even qualify for the 1/8 finals of the Conference League, which could be the only chance to qualify for the Europa League. Ajax had a lot of luck in the first leg and now they will have to play much smarter in order to get a positive result again.
