Trabzonspor come into Thursday's final as justified favourites to claim their first Turkish Cup victory since 2020. 

Abdullah Avcı´s side have enjoyed a strong run of form in recent weeks with victories collected in six of their last seven matches played since mid-April. Trabzonspor scored 17 goals in those victories, including a comprehensive 7:2 semi-final aggregate win against Fatih Karagümrük.

Eventually finishing third in the Turkish Super Liga, eight points ahead of Besiktas, the Black Sea Storm claimed wins in nine of their last 13 league outings.

Besiktas finished their season in less impressive form with only two wins in their last six matches. The Black Eagles finished fifth in the Super Liga, 43 points behind champions Galatasaray. While not to be under-estimated, Besiktas have to be regarded as the underdogs for this final. 

Serdar Topraktepe´s men secured their place in the final with a hard-fought 1:0 aggregate victory against Ankaragucu and in a disappointing season, will be desperate to claim silverware on Thursday. 

Trabzonspor have had the better of recent meetings with five wins and only two defeats in their last 12 contests since 2019. However, this is their first meeting in the Turkish Cup since 2011, and their first in the final since 1975.

While usually a high-scoring contest - 12 of 13 meetings between 2016 and 2022 saw BTTS - none of their last three encounters finished with that outcome. With that in mind, I´m ignoring my preferred goal markets.

Instead, I´ll take a chance on Trabzonspor maintaining their strong end of season form by claiming glory inside 90 minutes.
