Since the announcement of head coach Xavi´s departure at the end of the season, Barcelona seem to have picked up form with the Catalans now unbeaten in ten matches since a 5:3 defeat against Villarreal in January.

Now up to second in La Liga, Barcelona sit eight points behind league leaders and great rivals Real Madrid, with nine games still to play this season. 

At their temporary home in MontJuic, Barcelona have won four and drawn one of their last five matches including an impressive 3:1 win against Napoli in the Champions League. 

Contrastingly, Las Palmas have endured a miserable run of form which has seen them win just one of their last eight matches and none of their last five. Despite their recent downturn in results, the Islanders remain comfortably in mid-table with 37 points collected from 29 games played. The visitors sit 15 points above the drop zone, but nine points behind a potential European qualification place. 

On the road, Las Palmas have generally proven a tough side to beat but did suffer a painful 5:0 defeat at Atletico Madrid in February. The visitors have won only one of their last five on the road. 

Barcelona claimed a 2:1 win when these sides met in the Canary Islands earlier this season while they have won six of their last seven matches against Las Palmas since 2015. At least three goals were scored in all six of those victories.

Given their contrasting form of the past month, and Barca´ s historical dominance of this fixture, I'm confident the Catalans will claim the points on Saturday. I also expect at least three goals scored at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
