On Wednesday evening, two promotion contenders, Bangor and Institute, will face off in Bangor Fuels Arena at Bangor in the last game of the NIFL Championship regular phase.

Bangor won the Premier Intermediate (third tier) last year and got the opportunity to compete in the Championship. And the Seasiders are doing an excellent job, as they have secured the Playoff spot pretty easily. Right now, they are 3^rd with 60 points, only five points away from the top spot. Before losing the last game 2:1 vs Portadown away from home, Bangor were in amazing form with four wins in a row and will look to return to winning ways at home against one of the best road teams in Institute.

Last year, Institute barely escaped relegation, finishing 11^th, just five points away from relegation. This year, the popular Sky Blues are having a much better season as they secured the Promotion Group (Playoffs). Currently, they are in 4^th place with 58 points, two away from their next opponent and seven away from the top spot. With a potential win over Bangor, Institute would finish the regular phase in 3^rd place.

Bangor vs Institute pick: Over 2.5 goals

Bangor are the best offensive team in the league with 70 scored goals in 32 rounds – 2.19 per game. Lately, they have been even better, as they averaged 3.5 goals in the last four, so scoring two or three goals against anyone in the league is a completely realistic scenario. Because of that great offense, they are the best team for an over 2.5 goals bet in the league, as 81% of their games finished with three or more goals (26 of 32 rounds).

Even though Institute are not on Bangor’s level offensively, they are still scoring 1.59 goals per game. Lately, they have scored at least a goal in the last five games, even scoring a goal against Linfield in the Cup. We strongly believe they are capable of scoring against Bangor away from home.
