After securing the Champions League Quarter Finals with wins over Italian teams, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona will face off against each other in the 29th round of La Liga at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.

Atletico Madrid won its last La Liga title in the 2020/21 season, and this year, if it had a slightly better road record, they would be in the title race. Still, due to its terrible road record, even a top-four finish is questionable. Right now, they are fourth with 55 points, but Bilbao are only two points behind. On the other hand, with a possible win over the 3rd-placed Barcelona, they would close the gap to only three points difference between them and Barca. 

Last year, Barcelona won the La Liga title but was terrible in the Champions League, failing to reach the knockout phase. This year, the Catalan team is having an opposite season. They are doing fine in the CL while struggling in La Liga, as they are now third, already eight points behind the league's leader, Real Madrid. Even though eight points is not too much, Barca will have a really tough schedule for the remainder of the season. 

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona pick: Both teams to score

Atletico Madrid have been absolutely great at Metropolitano Stadium in La Liga, having won 13 of 14 games. In the other competitions, they only failed to score once in 20 matches. We do not doubt they can score at least once against anyone in the World on their pitch. 

Barcelona are in good form, as they are undefeated in the last nine games in all competitions. During that nine-game stretch, Barca scored at least a goal on eight occasions. Also, in recent road games, both teams scored in 12 of 13 Barcelona's games in all competitions. 

Considering all the above, we believe that both teams should score in this La Liga tie.
