Aston Villa are undoubtedly one of the most pleasant surprises in the Premier League. The improvement under Unai Emery is evident as they are currently sitting in 4th place, just five away from the top spot. Still, it seems that they are slowing down, as they won just once in the last five games in all competitions. It will be interesting to see how they will respond after a big 3:1 loss at Villa Park in the FA Cup 1/16 Finals against Chelsea. Also, the Villans were superb in the Europa Conference League, where they reached the 1/8 Finals and are the primary candidate for the title by the bookies. Generally speaking, their season has been a success so far, but their recent form is worrisome.
On the other hand, Manchester United's season has been a disaster, at least by their standards. The Red Devils got embarrassed in the UCL, finishing last in a pretty easy group with Bayern, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray. In the Premier League, they are already 13 points away from the top spot and eight away from their next opponent and the Champions League spot. Still, it seems that they finally started playing better, as they won four of the last five matches.
Aston Villa vs Manchester United pick: Over 2.5 goals
Aston Villa are one of the best offensive teams in the league, with 49 goals scored in 23 Premier League games - 2.13. Mostly because of a good offensive display, the Villans were over 2.5 goals in 16 of 23 Premier League games. At home, they have been incredible for the majority of the season, losing just three games and 17 matches in all competitions. However, even in those losses, the Villans managed to score, so a goal or two against anyone in England is pretty much guaranteed.
Manchester United had massive problems offensively this season, but it looks like that Erik ten Hag finally found a recipe for success. They won five times in the last seven games while scoring 19 goals (2.71 per game)! Yes, some of those games were against lower-tier teams in the FA Cup, but still, three scored goals vs West Ham, four against Wolves, and two against Tottenham are a big reason for optimism.
These teams met about a month and a half with Manchester United winning 3:2 at Old Trafford. Additionally, we have seen three or more goals in five of the last six h2h games. Considering the previous h2h games, Aston Villa's offensive displays at Villa Park throughout the season, and MU's recent goalscoring form, we expect at least three goals, most likely with both teams scoring.

Aston Villa team news
The newest name on the injury list is Ezri Konsa. According to English media, the 26-year-old defender has a knee sprain and will not be available for three or four weeks. His absence is surely a big blow for the Villans, considering he started in all 23 Premier League games this season.
The players who missed the previous games due to injuries will remain sidelined: Emiliano Buenadia, Tyrone Mings, and Jhon Duran, while Lucas Digne is doubtful with a thigh injury.

Manchester United team news
Lisandro Martinez suffered a knee injury in the previous game vs West Ham and had to leave the field after 71 minutes. It is still early to tell, but he is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks.
Besides Martinez, the players who missed the previous matches should remain sidelined: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, and Anthony Martial.
In recent games, ten Hag used more or less the same starting eleven, especially up front. Rashford - Hojlund - Garnacho trio finally started producing goals on a regular basis, and we shouldn't expect any changes there.
