  • Competition: Serie A
  • Date: 6th April 2024
  • Kickoff: 16:00 UTC +1 / 17:00 CEST
  • Venue: Stadio Olimpico

Two Serie A teams who have not quite hit their stride this season meet this weekend as Roma welcome Lazio at Stadio Olimpico.

Roma have looked good since the sacking of Mourinho and the subsequent appointment of Daniele De Rossi as head coach but there is still plenty of work to be done. The Yellow and Reds failed to beat Lecce in their last league outing earlier in the week and will enter this weekend's game with just one win from their last four fixtures. However, Roma

Lazio are one of the most inconsistent teams in Italy's top flight. The visitors showed how good they can be against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, but suffered defeat a few days later against a team seven places below them in the league standings. Their last game was a 0:2 defeat in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia, a result that further emphasised their poor away record.

AS Roma vs Lazio prediction: Under 2.5 goals

Goals have been a rarity for Roma in recent matches. Indeed, the hosts boast just one goal from their last three outings. Bets on under 2.5 goals won in all three encounters.

That said, recent encounters between Roma and Lazio in all competitions were not particularly entertaining. The last four encounters produced less than 1.5 goals each and I expect Saturday's game to be similar.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals

AS Roma team news

Roma didn’t suffer any fresh injuries in the goalless draw with Lecce on Monday but head coach Daniele De Rossi is expected to make changes to the side that was on the pitch from kickoff in that game.

Dean Huijsen is expected to replace Evan Ndicka  who picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign in that game, while Paulo Dybala is likely to replace young forward Tommaso Baldanzi.

Rasmus Kristensen and Sardar Azmoun are expected to miss out due to muscle and knee injuries respectively.

Lazio

Lazio team news

As far as Lazio are concerned, head coach Igor Tudor is set to be without at least five players this weekend due to injuries.

Mattia Zaccagni suffered an ankle injury just 14 minutes into the defeat to Juventus last time out and is not expected to return this weekend.

The forward is joined on the visitors’ injured list by Manuel Lazzari (calf), Luca Pellegrini (ankle), Ivan Provede (ankle) and Nicolò Rovella (inflammation of pubic bone).
