AS Roma vs Inter prediction 10.02.2024

In the previous five years, AS Roma have been between 5th and 7th place in Serie A and couldn't reach the Champions League spot. Not even Mourinho managed to do that even though they had success in Europe, winning the Europa League Conference and were runner-ups in the Europa League last season. This season, they were solid in the Europa League once again as they secured the 1/16 Finals and will face Feyenoord. However, in the domestic competitions, Roma weren't great as they are 5th in Serie A, one point away from 4th-placed Atalanta, but with one more played game. Also, after Lazio knocked them out of the Cup, the club decided to sack Jose Mourinho and appoint former Roma player Daniele De Rossi. Under the new coach, they look surprisingly good, but now, they will have a big test in front of them against the best team in Italy this season.

Inter is having an absolutely great season. Their only bad result was against Bologna in the Cup, where Bologna knocked them out of the competition, but Nerazzurri were objectively a lot better and should have won that game also. Still, that is only one game, and we can give them a pass on that one. But other than that, they were excellent. In the Serie A, they are holding the top spot with 57 points, four away from the second-placed Juventus and one game played fewer. They also already won the Super Cup and were great in the UCL, where they easily secured the knockout phase and will face Atletico Madrid.

AS Roma vs Inter pick: Both teams to score

The main problem for AS Roma this season is their terrible road record. At Stadio Olimpico, AS Roma had only one loss in 16 matches in all competitions while scoring at least a goal every time! Also, under De Rosi, Roma were pretty efficient, scoring eight goals in three Serie A games, and we believe they can score even against Inter at Olimpico.

Nerazzuri are in excellent form with six wins in a row against excellent teams while scoring 13 goals - 2.17 per game. They were efficient throughout the season and have scored 51 goals in 22 Serie A games (2.32 per game). Inter are equally efficient away from home as at home, and we do not doubt they can score against anyone in the league. 

Considering Roma's good form, good home record, and Inter's absolutely great offensive display this season, we believe that both teams to score is the best bet for this Serie A game.
