Crystal Palace and Newcastle United meet on Wednesday night, with the hosts looking to register three consecutive wins for the first time in the 2023-24 campaign, while Newcastle United want to win successive away games for the second time this season. 

The Eagles were in the relegation battle a few weeks ago, but with two wins from their last two outings have moved them four places above the drop zone. Oliver Glasner's side pulled off a surprise win over Liverpool at Anfield a fortnight ago and followed that up with another victory over West Ham United last weekend at Selhurst Park where they scored five goals. Palace will be looking to extend this winning streak on Wednesday night, but the Eagles' record against Newcastle United is very poor - one win from their last eight encounters.

Newcastle United have also found some good form of late. The Magpies caused Tottenham Hotspur all sort of problems at St James' Park in a 4:0 win last time out, and before that they beat Fulham 1:0. Eddie Howe's side are now unbeaten in four league games and are tipped to extend that streak this week.

We saw seven goals in Palace’s last game with the Hammers but there hasn’t been much entertainment in most of the recent games of the Eagles. Oliver Glasner’s men scored under one goal in five of their last seven matches and as many games ended with under 2.5 goals.

Meetings between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United at Selhurst Park are also known for being very tight. Each of the last six fixtures between these two sides at this venue ended with under two goals and I expect that run to be extended this week.
