Cameroon is the second-best team in African Cup of Nations history, with five titles. The only better is Egypt, with seven. This year, it seems unrealistic for them to compete for the title, but the African Cup of Nations is usually full of surprises, and Cameroon could be one. 

Cameroon didn't play well last year, as they won only two of nine matches. A few days ago, Cameroon played a friendly game versus Zambia and failed to win again (it was 1-1). 

So far, 15 teams won the African Cup of Nations trophy and Guinea is not among them. Their best success was the final appearance in the 1976 tournament. Guinea seems unlikely to finish among the first two places in this group, but they should be good enough to finish third in the standings. Guinea hopes to be enough to progress to the next phase as one of the best third-placed teams. 

Guinea are solid in the last few months as they lost only one of the last six matches. A few days ago, as the final preparation for the tournament, Guinea won 2-0 in a friendly game versus Nigeria. That win will certainly give Kaba Diawara's team a lot of confidence ahead of the game versus Cameroon.

Cameroon scored only five goals in the last five matches. On the other hand, Guinea scored six goals during the previous five games. Under 2.5 goals should be the best bet for this tie.
