After a decade in Serie A, where they were mostly a mid-table team, Sassuolo are having a really poor season, as they are currently in the relegation zone. Currently, they are only two points away from the desired 17th place. Looking on paper, Sassuolo's team is capable of much more, and most of the football pundits expected them "to flip the switch" and move closer to the middle of the table. Unfortunately for their fans, that hasn't happened, but we firmly believe they will escape the relegation.
Lecce escaped the relegation last year by five points and is in a good position to avoid it once again. Even though they are in 13th place, they are far from safe, considering they are five points above the danger zone. In fact, a win over Empoli, another relegation candidate, greatly helped them in creating some gap between them and the danger zone. If they secure a win against Sassuolo, the Giallorossi will make a huge step in securing survival.
Sassuolo vs Lecce pick: Sassulo to (AH 0) win
Sassuolo had a terrible season, but the coaching change seems to be working, considering they lost just once in the last four matches. At home, they are undefeated in the last three, including a 3:3 draw vs AC Milan in the last round.
Lecce have been absolutely terrible away from home. Their only win in 16 rounds was against the worst team in the league - Salernitana. They struggled even to score on the road, as they managed to do so only 11 times, which is tied for the worst in the league.
In the first h2h game, we saw a 1:1 draw in a really close match. Interestingly, these teams played seven h2h games, and Lecce have never won a match against Neroverdi. With their backs against the wall, we think that Sassuolo will secure a positive result at Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore against Lecce which struggled away from home.

Sassuolo team news
A right full-back, Jeremy Toljan, suffered an injury in the previous game vs AC Milan and had to leave after only nine minutes. However, it seems that another right full-back, Marcus Pedersen, could be ready after missing three games with a muscle injury.
One of the best players on the team, Domenico Berardi, will also remain sidelined with an ACL injury. At the same time, Samu Castillejo will remain sidelined at least for two or three weeks with a knee injury.
The club appointed Davide Ballardini around a month and a half ago after sacking Alessio Dionisi. Under the new head coach, Sassuolo averaged 1.0 points per game in the first six matches, which is better than under the previous coach this season.

Lecce team news
One of the better offensive players on the team, Pontus Almqvist, received a fifth yellow card in the previous match vs Empoli and will serve his one-game suspension against Sassuolo. On the other hand, Nikola Krstovic served his suspension in the last match and should be ready for the upcoming game.
According to Italian media, Lameck Banda will undergo knee surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Additionally, Kastriot Dermaku and Mohamed Kaba will remain sidelined with their injuries.
Lecce sacked coach Roberto D'Avaresa on March 11th for headbutting the opposing player in the Verona game. The club decided to appoint Luca Gotti as the new head coach, and were excellent under him in the first four matches, winning seven points - 1.75 per game.
