Once a stable Serie A team, Palermo had a few difficult years, even failing to Serie D in the 2019/20 season after failing to correctly submit an application for Serie B. After that, the club made significant changes and quickly got back in Serie B. Last season, the popular Rosanero finished 9th in the league, very close to the playoffs. This season, their goal is surely to make a step forward and return to the Italian top-flight division after seven years. The current season started well, but with back-to-back losses, they fell to 5th place and are now four points away from the 2nd-placed Venezia and the direct promotion (although with a game fewer). 

Brescia are coming off one of their worst seasons in a long time. They finished the regular season in 16th place and escaped direct relegation only by one point. They still had to play in the relegation playout and lost to Cosenza. However, since Reggina had some financial irregularities, they were relegated, and Brescia got the opportunity to play in Serie B for at least another season. The current season started very well for the team from Lombardy as they collected 13 points in seven games. But they are slowing down and lost three in a row. Currently, they are in 13th place, three points away from relegation playout, although with two games fewer than 16th-placed Sampdoria. 

Palermo vs Brescia pick: Both teams to score

With 17 goals in 11 games, Palermo have the third-best offense in the league, only behind Catanzaro and Parma. So far, in 11 games, they only failed to score three times. Additionally, at home, even though they had mixed results are very good at creating goalscoring chances. According to xG statistics, they are the best team in that category, with 2.22 xG per game. So, scoring against struggling Brescia shouldn't be a problem, but the defense was a concern in recent games. In the last seven games, they only had one clean sheet!

Brescia are in poor form, with three losses in a row. However, they are scoring pretty regularly. In the last five matches, they only once failed to score. Even though they are in poor form, they could score a goal vs Palermo, which haven't been great on the defensive end in recent games. 

We have seen both teams scoring in the previous four h2h games. We think Palermo are a better team, but we simply can't trust their defense at this point. Considering the previous h2h games and everything the above, both teams to score should be the safest option for this tie.
