Following their FA Cup semi-final heartbreak, Coventry returns to Championship action on Wednesday when they host Hull at The Coventry Building Society Arena.

Coventry vs Hull Betting Tips - Over 2.5 Goals

Coventry suffered the most heart-breaking moment in their long history on Sunday after a dramatic penalty shoot out defeat against Manchester United. Trailing 3:0 with less than 20 minutes to play, three goals in the dying embers secured a stunning fightback to take the tie to extra-time. A cruelly disallowed goal in the final minute of the added 30 minutes robbed the Sky Blues of their most famous moment since a 1987 FA Cup triumph against Tottenham. 

Following Sunday ́s heartache, the Sky Blues must refocus with the knowledge that a late playoff push is not without their reach. Mark Robins side sit nine points outside of the top six but do boast two games in hand on sixth-placed Norwich.

While it remains an outside chance that Coventry can still force an unlikely playoff berth, we can be more confident of seeing plenty of goals on Wednesday. Indeed, the Sky Blues can usually be relied upon for high-scoring matches, as evidenced on Sunday. 

Mark Robins' side has an incredible track record, with over 2.5 goals scored in a staggering 24 of their last 26 matches across all competitions. Each of the Sky Blues last 12 games saw over 2.5 goals netted.  At The Coventry Building Society Arena each of their last eight home Championship matches also saw at least three goals scored while six of those games finished with both teams scoring. 

Visiting Hull comes into this contest also still in the playoff hunt. Sitting three points above Coventry but having played one game more, the Tigers know a win is a must if they are to have any chance of catching Norwich.

Like Coventry, the visitors have seen plenty of goalmouth action in recent weeks. Five of their last seven away fixtures saw over 2.5 goals scored, and I expect a repeat on Wednesday. 

With both teams knowing only a win will do, I expect an open contest where we can expect at least three goals scored. Over 2.5 goals is my top tip with BTTS also expected to land at The Coventry Building Society Arena.
