Al Duhail vs Al Nassr prediction 07.11.2023

On Tuesday evening, Qatari champion, Al Duhail, will welcome the Saudi Arabian vice-champions, Al Nassr, in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League. 

Al Duhail had a very dominant last season, winning the league and the League Cup as well. However, this season did not start according to plan, and they found themselves in 4th place in the domestic league after seven rounds. In the AFC Champions League, they were even worse, winning only one point in three rounds. Considering only one team advances to the next stage, Al Duhail needs all three points to stay alive in this competition, but they will have a tough job against Ronaldo's Al Nassr.

When Ronaldo arrived at Al Nassr, the expectations were high, but Al Nassr failed to win any trophies, finishing second in the league. The current season started a lot better as they won their first trophy with Ronaldo by beating Al Hilal in the Arab Club Champions Cup. They are looking really good this season, but considering they added a few high-profile players from top European teams, that really shouldn't surprise us. Right now, they are at the top of Group E in the AFC Champions League with a maximum of nine points, and in the domestic league, they are 2nd, four points away from the first-placed Al Hilal. 

Al Duhail vs Al Nassr pick: Over 2.5 goals

After a somewhat poor start to the season, Al Duhail tried to change the team's momentum by changing the head coach. Since Christophe Galtier arrived, the team looks a lot better and have won three of four matches, looking especially great on the offensive end, scoring ten goals in that period - 2.5 per game. Their only loss was against Al Nassr, but they managed to score three even in that match and also had one goal disallowed by VAR. Because of that good offense, Al Duhail were three times over 2.5 goals in the last four matches.

Al Nassr have been simply incredible offensively this season, but looking at their offensive potential with Ronaldo, Mane, Talisca, and Otavio, we are not surprised at all. On the road, they have been really efficient in recent games, scoring 25 goals in the last seven games - 3.6 per game.

In the previous h2h game, just around two weeks ago, we saw an exciting 4:3 win for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. From what we saw in the last h2h game and considering both team's great goalscoring form in recent games, we think that over 2.5 goals is the best option for this tie.
