While both sides might have hoped to be in contention for a promotion playoff spot, this fixture represents a chance to move closer away from the relegation zone.

Coming into Wednesday's Championship contest, an offf-form Swansea find themselves just five points above the relegation places after a 2:0 defeat at Middlesbrough last weekend.Luke Williams men have taken just four points from their last five league fixtures.

Struggling for much of this year, the Swans have won just four of their last 15 league outings and with five games still to play, the Welsh side are not yet safe from the threat of the drop. 

Stoke come into this fixture also flirting with the relegation places. The visitors sit 18th in the division, just four points above the bottom four. The Potters have been in better form though with ten points picked up from their last five matches. 

On their travels, Stephen Schumacher´s side have suffered from inconsistency this season. The visitors won their last two away fixtures after losing four successive road matches between January and March. Stoke have won six and lost six of their last 14 away contests.

The Potters do have a decent recent record in this fixture with three wins and two draws from their last five encounters since August 2021.

A tough match to call, goal stats are very much inconclusive but a tight contest seems likely given the hosts recent struggles and the lingering threat of relegation faced by both sides. However, Stoke have some away momentum, so I'm backing the Potters in the double chance market.
