A thrilling clash could be on the cards as Olympiakos and Fenerbahce lock horns in the Europa Conference League quarter-final first leg. With both teams lacking defensive solidity in recent outings and boasting strong attacking qualities, a high-scoring contest seems likely. 

Olympiakos secured their quarter-final berth with a stunning comeback victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv, overturning a 4-1 deficit to win 6-1 in the return leg. Despite some inconsistency in form, Jose Luis Mendilibar's side enters this fixture in high spirits after a convincing 5-1 win over Lamia in the Greek Super League.

Fenerbahce booked their spot in the quarter-finals with a comfortable 3-1 aggregate win over Union St Gilloise. Despite recent issues with the Turkish football authorities and the walk off in the recently “contested” Turkish Super Cup, Ismail Kartal's men have been in fine form on the pitch, winning five of their last six matches.

Both teams have been prolific in attack this season and I expect a high-scoring contest on Thursday. Fenerbahce have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 13 of 16 previous Conference League matches. Ten of those games also saw at least four goals scored. 

The visiting Greeks have also seen plenty of high-scoring matches in European competition this season. Nine of their last 12 European matches saw at least three goals netted. 

Given the attacking firepower on display, over 2.5 goals should prove the best choice on Thursday, while BTTS also has a great chance.
