Ayr United have been one of the best teams in the Championship this season and even held the 1st place in the first part of the season. Still, after a bad final stretch, they finished the season as 2nd and eventually qualified for the Playoff Semi-Finals.
Partick Thistle looked like a team that would fail to make the playoffs in the middle of the season. But since mid-February, they have been on an incredible streak and finished the season 4th. Still, they barely made the playoffs because they were tied with 5th-placed Morton but had a better goal difference.

Ayr United team news
Coach Lee Bullen spoke to the media after a 3:0 loss in the first leg. He said it is proven (by Sheffield Wednesday a few days ago) that it is possible to overcome even a four-goal deficit in the playoffs. "We're fit enough, and we've got the ability, but we have to defender a lot better," he added.
The team's top goalscorer, Dipo Akinyemi, missed the previous game and could miss the second leg too. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker scored 20 goals this season.
A starting right full-back in the first part of the season, Jordan Houston missed the previous two games and will most likely miss the next game too.

Partick Thistle team news
After the club sacked Ian McCall, they appointed under 18 coach Kriss Doolan on an interim basis. But after a great three weeks, the club decided to keep him as the new head coach. Under Doolan, Partick Thistle have been unbelievable, with only one loss in the previous 16 games.
Coach Doolan spoke to the media after a 3:0 win in the first leg. He was satisfied with the win and said they proved how dangerous they can be. He also said it will be a challenging second game, but they are going on the road with a positive mind frame and looking for a win.
Due to injuries, the team will miss a starting midfielder Stuart Bannigan and a starting left full-back in the first part of the season, Harry Milne. Two rotation players will also miss the game: Cammy Smith (forward) and Lee Hodson (right full-back).
