Between the 2013/14 and 2020/21 seasons, Aberdeen have been between 2nd and 4th place in the league and secured Europe in all eight seasons. But the last season was the worst in the previous 18 years. They finished the season 10th and almost got relegated. This season, they are in 3rd place with 54 points from 36 matches - six points away from 5th placed Hibernians.
This season was a rollercoaster for Aberdeen. After a good start, they had an awful stretch in December 2022 and January 2023, but after they changed the head coach, they started playing a lot better and climbed in the standings.
Despite being the last team in the Championship group, St. Mirren are having a good season by their standards, possibly one of the best in recent history. They are two points away from 5th-placed Hibernians but with one game extra played. If Celtic wins the Cup, the 5th-placed team will qualify for Europe.
Throughout the season, St. Mirren were solid offensively both at home and on the road. But, regarding defense, they have struggled on the road and allowed 37 goals, to only 18 at home.
Aberdeen vs St. Miren pick: Aberdeen to win
Aberdeen won seven of the last ten games. Their only two losses in those ten games were on the road. In the league, Aberdeen have been superb at home, with 38 points in 18 matches, winning 12 of 18 home games.
St. Mirren are on a five-game winless run. During that period, they allowed at least two goals every time.
St. Mirren struggled on the road throughout the season. They won only 14 points in the league from 18 matches away from home. In fact, they won almost 70% of their points at home.

Aberdeen team news
After a 6:0 loss to Hibernian, Aberdeen sacked coach Jim Godwin and appointed Barry Robson as the interim head coach. Under the new coach, they started playing a lot better, and because of that, the club signed a new contract with him until May 2025.
The team's captain Graeme Shinnie received a red card against Ross County and was handed a four-game ban. He served his suspension and will be back on the field. Shinnie is the key midfielder for Aberdeen.
Due to an injury, Ross McCrorie is out for the rest of the season. He started in 94% of games in the league. Callum Roberts will also miss the game with an injury.
