After both emerged unscathed in eventful semi-final clashes, Oxford United face Wycombe Wanderers in this summer's League One Playoff Final. Only one point separated the pair before play was suspended in March, though form will fade into insignificance at Wembley. Read my match preview, for the correct score predictions ahead of this fixture.

Oxford United vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Tips

Oxford United needed penalties to dispatch a spirited Portsmouth effort at the Kassam Stadium last Monday, booking their place in this summer's showpiece event. After goals from Middlesbrough loanee Marcus Browne and an Ellis Harrison own goal in each leg, they battled through extra-time.

Spot-kicks were required to decide their fate, with goalkeeper Simon Eastwood making a brilliant low save to his right, denying Barnsley loanee Cameron McGeehan. It's always a cruel lottery but Oxford were rewarded for their resiliency – recovering from slender deficits twice – and are 90 minutes away from Championship football.

After his impressive cameo in their second leg victory, I'd expect skilful forward Daniel Agyei to feature from the start. They face Gareth Ainsworth's bullish Wycombe side, who blasted Fleetwood aside 4-1 in their first leg.

The return fixture made for nervy viewing after goals from Danny Andrew and a Ched Evans penalty after 60 minutes. Importantly though, midfielder Fred Onyedinma completed his brace in stoppage-time to banish any last-minute doubts.

In four H2H meetings, Ainsworth remains winless against Karl Robinson (L3, D1), a statistic he'll be itching to correct here. Who will come out on top?

Oxford United vs Wycombe Correct Score Predictions

This is for all the marbles: promotion to next season's Championship is on the line and both sides are capable. I'm leaning towards a hard-fought Oxford United victory.

It's not because of their superior H2H record – unbeaten in their last five meetings – but they also possess more quality. Robinson's side also beat a better side in Portsmouth to get to this stage, though anything can happen in 90 minutes.
