After embarking on a 15-match unbeaten run (W13, D2) that was snapped away at Panathinaikos on Sunday, Olympiacos manager Pedro Martins must be ruing his lack of luck as it appears their stumbling block has arrived at precisely the wrong time. 

Having finished third in a tricky Champions League group C with Manchester City and Porto progressing, the Greek champions have a chance to write last season's wrongs - bettering a last-16 finish in last season's Europa League. 

However, they cannot afford to look beyond a deceptively good PSV side who boast a dangerous forward in Donyell Malen, scoring a brace and hitting the woodwork twice during their draw at ADO Den Haag this past weekend.

Olympiacos had second-half substitute Ousseynou Ba sent off after two bookings in 20 minutes, Youssef El Arabi's late goal proved just a consolation and they were bested by a Panathinaikos side who ended an H2H streak of eight games without a victory last weekend. 

While you can argue Martins was deliberately resting some players with this match in mind: Mathieu Valbuena, Giorgos Masouras and goalscorer El Arabi were all second-half subs, the timing doesn't bode well as far as confidence is concerned.

As for PSV, they lost 2-1 away at Ajax in the KNVB beker quarter-finals last week before conceding a late equaliser three days later as ADO Den Haag snatched an unlikely 2-2 draw from an action-packed affair their visitors really should've won.
