After their six-match unbeaten streak was dismantled at home by league leaders Lille on Sunday, Lorient needs to lick their wounds quickly with an away trip against fellow strugglers Nimes up next in midweek.

Wednesday's hosts have won successive Ligue 1 games for the first time since mid-February last year, as new head coach Pascal Plancque hopes to help them steer clear of the relegation zone this term.

Nimes have been the league's whipping boys this term (W6, D3, L16) and lost one more game than bottom side Dijon - with 11 more goals conceded. They'll hope that tag changes drastically as new management is in charge, and the signs are promising if you isolate February alone.

They lost 4-3 to Euro-chasing Monaco in Plancque's first game, though their resiliency was admirable. 

After being knocked out of the Coupe de France by a much stronger Nice side (3-1) three days later, they've recorded successive 2-0 wins over Dijon and Bordeaux.

You could argue both teams finished with ten men, though we're already in losing positions and dismissals were late (90' and 68'), so the sample size isn't big enough to make confident predictions as far as their Ligue 1 status is concerned. 

However, they must improve defensively. Successive clean sheets help establish some confidence, but will they impress here?
