Gilbert, world number 24, has had a nightmare season so far. His best result is the fourth round of the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters, while he was knocked out in the first round in most of this season's tournaments. The pressure is building on the Angry Farmer, who'll be out of the top 32 soon if his results don't change.
He is up against Ukrainian prodigy Boiko, the current U-21 European champion, who is clearly on the rise, bagging up valuable experience. The 20-year-old had notable wins over Zak Surety, Jackson Page and Sam Craigie this season, while losing a 5-4 nailbiter to the former world champion Kyren Wilson. What's even more important, he has already won two UK Championship qualifiers, making two centuries in the process.
Boiko is in very good form right now, and even betting his victory against Gilbert at 3.25 looks a decent choice. However, we'll opt for a safer option, choosing the handicap line of +2.5 frames at 1.72 instead.
