There will be a new look for both European heavyweights when Germany and Spain clash in their Nations League opener on Thursday evening. Switzerland and Ukraine also feature, but it's fair to expect these two will battle for a place in next summer's Finals.

Spain are unbeaten for 22 months, after back-to-back 3-2 defeats against England and Croatia in their penultimate fixture of 2018. Germany meanwhile, remain a side in transition after being humbled 4-2 by the Netherlands this time last year. Regardless, this promises to be an intriguing watch.

Germany vs Spain Betting Tips

Luis Enrique's decision to deliver first senior call-ups for wingers Ansu Fati and Adama Traore was well-received last week. Making his return at the helm for La Roja, the former Barcelona boss has shown a signal of intent with a youthful sprinkle across the squad.

Seasoned professionals like Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, Sevilla's Jesus Navas (both 34) and Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets (32), should all feature. However, there's also talented youngsters: Eric Garcia (19), Ferran Torres (20), Dani Olmo and Oscar Rodriguez (both 22) alongside the aforementioned duo.

It'll be interesting to see how they fare against Germany, who are in rebuild mode after a forgettable World Cup collapse two years ago. Joachim Low confirmed those who featured prominently in Champions League action last month haven't been called up, allowing for rest.

That includes Bayern's five players who featured in their 1-0 Final win over PSG on August 23, but provides opportunities for others. Leroy Sane could start for the first time since last June, while Chelsea's new signing Timo Werner and transfer-linked Kai Havertz are among those to watch out for.

Germany vs Spain Correct Score Predictions

Both possess players capable of winning this match with a moment of individual brilliance, but it's tough to split them.

Although there will be talent aplenty on the pitch, neither side is truly at full strength – so expect goals. I'm leaning towards BTTS here.
