Germany vs Mexico Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
The first match of Group F will be played between Germany and Mexico at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow. This is an interesting game for all the football fans to watch, as two teams that are so different face each other. On one side, we have German accuracy and efficiency, and on the other, we have Latin heart and pride.
Germany, the defending champion, will be looking to put behind them a disappointing Euro 2016 campaign, by their standards, and start their 2018 World Cup campaign with a win. This a team that is known for their tactical and team approach that has brought lots of success in the past. In the weeks behind us, they have played two friendly matches. In the most recent one, they defeated Saudi Arabia by the score of 2-1 and managed to lose to Austria. The coach, Joachim Löw, decided to give the bench players a chance to prove themselves, and in the end, they failed to do so. Ozil scored the only goal for Germany early in the first half. The coach has made some controversial decisions in the recent days. First, he left out Leroy Sane of Manchester City, saying that he is not needed, and then going on to make Manuel Neuer the first goalkeeper, even though he just recently returned to the field after a long recovery. The legendary German goalkeeper, Oliver Khan, went as far as to say “If I was Germany's coach I would start Ter Stegen”. It should not be too difficult for the Germans to adapt to Russian conditions as they have won the Confederations Cup there last summer.

Mexico topped their qualification group, but in all fairness, the quality of opposition was something that made the process a lot easier. As part of their preparations for the World Cup, they played against Scotland and Denmark. They managed to defeat Scotland by the score of 1-0 and lost to Denmark by the score of 2-0. They failed to capitalize on their chances, despite having the similar number of attempts as their rivals. El Tri don’t have a great record of getting past the knockout rounds but they will give their best to change their ways in Russia. Mexico will begin their campaign against the title defenders and that pressure could get to them. El Tri are well known for their teamwork and, no matter what the outcome of the match is, they will leave their hearts on the field.
These two sides teams have played a total of five matches against each other. The first one occurred way back in 1978 and the most recent one was almost a year ago in the Confederations Cup knockout phase when Germany dominated, and in the end, won by the score of 4-1. Fabian scored the only goal for Mexico, and on the other side, Werner and Younes netted a goal each with Goretzka adding two goals of his own. Surprisingly, Mexico was dominant in almost all statistical aspects of the game, but in the end, it was the German efficiency that prevailed.
